Saw this at a grocery store today. Looked like a bloated English cab imo.
It's a VPG MV-1.
Apparently they're a specialty vehicle for handicapped mobility.
Not for me in any way, but certainly cool to see a unique vehicle.

Capital Metro here in Austin has started using those. I'm seeing more and more of them around town. Definitely turned my head the first time I saw one. My impression of it is that it looks like an orthopedic shoe. Practical, but not terribly fashionable.

I believe these were originally proposed for the cab of tomorrow in NYC. Needless to say, it didn't go over well.

Yeah these are everywhere here in NY. I never got the name of it though.

My dad just sent me this picture of one today, asking what it was. Fortunately I was familiar with it. I've always thought it looked like an armored car had an allergic reaction and swelled up.

There are a bunch of them as cabs in Chicago. I think also in NYC if I remember correctly.

We have these as Yellow Cabs here in Columbus. Rode in one once...the inside room was impressive, but the space behind the seat where the driver wanted me to put my stuff was tiny.
